An illustrator, painter and etcher who had a varied, adventurous life, Emile Roure was born and raised in San Francisco, California by French parents. His painting subjects include landscapes, seascapes, portraits and scenes from his many travels.
Emile Roure showed early art talent and at age eleven began study with Eugene Taniere in San Francisco. He served in the Spanish American War as a staff artist in the Phillipines for the Associated Press, and then lived in New York C (showing 500 of 1287 characters). |
