| | Born in California on Nov. 17, 1903. During the 1930s Ruddock lived on a farm in Santa Cruz; however, she traveled extensively and spent long periods in Alaska, Israel, Eureka and San Francisco. During the Depression she worked as a painter for the Public Works of Art Project. About 1945 she suffered a heat stroke while in Arizona which left her unable to paint. She died in Sacramento, CA on July 30, 1992. Her rare works include watercolors of desert flowers.
