| | Born in Navarro Ridge, Mendocino County, CA on Nov. 8, 1902 of Finnish descent. Esther Jarbinen graduated from Humboldt State University. By 1940 she had wed John Roebuck and settled in Salinas, CA where she was a teacher in the public schools. She died in Salinas on Feb. 3, 1970.
