|Biography from Quidley & Company:|
|Forrest Rodts' finely detailed landscapes, seascapes, still lifes and
illustrations reflect his love of the ocean and the unspoiled serenity
of New England's coastline. Over the years he has developed a
personal style that combines color, light and composition with
meticulous draftsmanship. His intimate crafting of details make
the familiar come to life in a brilliant acrylic palette.
Although Forrest has painted landscapes with an eye towards capturing
the realism of sunsets, stormy skies, sparkling blue oceans and white
capped waves, more recently he has produced dramatic works that reflect
his long standing interest in marine history and the sailing tradition.|
paintings represent my continued study of water and light combined with
my love of sailing, history and the ocean. My goal is to be as
realistic as possible while still producing an aesthetically pleasing
painting which will draw the viewer into its mood.”
