Biography from Crocker Art Museum Store:
Painter. Born in Findlay, OH on Aug. 6, 1878.

Ruthrauff studied in California with Wm V. Cahill and William Clapp, and in Paris with Henri Morrisett,

A railroad executive who painted in his leisure, he was a resident of Berkeley, CAuntil 1925 and then settled in Ogden, UT where he was president of the Utah Art Institute until his death on Feb. 15, 1932.

Member: Berkeley Art League; Calif. Art Club; Ogden Society of Artists. Exh: Public Works of Art Project, So. Calif., 1924; SFAA, 1925-27; Calif. Art Club, 1929. 11 AAA 1932, o. 430: SCA.
