The following is from Norm Walker:
The paintings I have/had (7 originally) were given to me by my father who obtained them in an estate sale in Brooklyn in the 1950s. He was a branch manager of a bank at the time and knew the family. George's father had invented an embalming fluid and became moderately wealthy for the time. As a result George could pursue his painting as he wished (not having to make a living at it). Most of his work is of locations on Long Island ie. Southport etc.(showing 500 of 2065 characters). |
