This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| The following is from Norm Walker:
The paintings I have/had (7 originally) were given to me by my father who obtained them in an estate sale in Brooklyn in the 1950s. He was a branch manager of a bank at the time and knew the family. George's father had invented an embalming fluid and became moderately wealthy for the time. As a result George could pursue his painting as he wished (not having to make a living at it). Most of his work is of locations on Long Island ie. Southport etc.
My father donated several paintings of various sizes to the Wyoming County Hospital in Warsaw, NY. I assume they are still there. As I remember some were large. Many are of boat/water scenes as you would find on the shores of eastern Long Island.
We also have several sketch pieces in good condition showing his study of subject material. Not too much detail in this but one forgets as time goes by. Hope it is of interest.
