Gounod Romandy was born on Coronado Island, California, on April 18, 1893, beginning a life in art that started with music. Accomplished on the violin by the age of six, Romandy joined the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra following high school, studying music and painting under J. Bond Francisco.
Romandy furthered his art studies and focused on California impressionist landscape painting with Jack Wilkinson Smith and Louis Hensel. He was second vice-president of the Laguna Beach Art Associ (showing 500 of 1681 characters). |
