| | Born in San Diego, CA on Nov. 8, 1899. Remfree was active as an artist in San Diego from an early age. She studied art with Ed Northridge at San Diego Evening High School where she was awarded a scholarship to the local Academy of Fine Arts. While a student at the latter, she won a competition for the design of a seal for the San Diego Historical Society. She died in her native city on Feb. 6, 1994.
