| From his studio in Waltham, Massachusetts, Herb Randle does commercial art and painting for his own pleasure. His primary subjects are figures in landscape, scenes near his home, and portraits in a realist/impressionist style. He paints in both oil and watercolor.
Randle attended the School of the Fine Arts in Boston and studied with Karl Zerbe and Gardener Cox, with Cox becoming the inspiration to do portraits. After that, he began freelance work and also was employed by a design studio where he did photo retouching with airbrush.
He also dabbled in commercial photography and attended the Yale Summer School in Norfolk, Connecticut, studying with Walter Rosenblum. |
