| | Born on Nov. 8, 1916 in Kansas City, MO. The Riemen family settled in San Francisco in 1927. Jeanne studied art there at the CSFA. By the late 1930s she had switched from commercial art to photography. After her marriage to artist Donald Short in 1942, she lived in Berkeley until 1982. Her last years were spent in Santa Rosa, CA; she died there on Jan. 12, 1991. | Source:
