Jerome Henry Roth (Jerry) was born Jerome Rothstein in the Bronx, NY on May 4, 1918, the youngest child of Mary and Bernard Rothstein. He acquired the middle name “Henry” at the age of 4 when he became dangerously ill with lobar pneumonia. Jewish tradition contrived to fool the Angel of Death who would come down to (showing 500 of 5108 characters). |
