| The following biographical data courtesy of the artist:
She studied at Ohio State University from 1964 to 1968 on a university
scholarship, earning a B.F.A., and continued on as a teaching
assistant, earning her M.F.A. in 1970. Professor Ruggles taught at
several colleges and universities, and retired from California
Polytechnic State University in 2004, being granted the status of
Professor Emeritus.
She is the recipient of numerous awards and grants from 1973-on, including:
