| | Born in Los Angeles, CA on Sept. 23, 1916. After her parents died, Katherine left California at age four when adopted by a family in Michigan. She graduated from high school in Battle Creek in 1934 and then returned to California to study at Mills College and the CSFA. She wed George Tooby in 1936 and moved to Wisconsin. Divorced in 1942, she married Karl Randels and returned to Battle Creek where she lives today. Still painting, her subjects include landscapes and figure studies.
