| Katherine Renner was born in Kansas on September 13, 1900. Renner was a resident of Los Angeles by 1919 and a pupil at Otis Art Institute. She then majored in art at UCLA and had a studio in Los Angeles until 1950 when she settled in Montecito. Her married name was then Powers. She died in Santa Barbara, CA on August 9, 1999.
