Biography from Butler Institute of American Art:
The following information was taken from the artist's website with her permission (April 2006):

She was born on January 4, 1952  in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and showed a talent for art from an early age on.  Encouraged by her parents and teachers, Linda studied oil painting with John Shelby Metcalf at age nine(1961-62), a medium she still predominantely employs.  She credits her parents with opening her eyes to the natural beauty of  this land, and still today specializes in landscapes, painting in a style which has been described as a combination of Realism and Impressionism.

She attended Oklahoma City University, and age twenty already her work had been shown at the Oklahoma Museum of Art, the Oklahoma Art Center, the Kerr Museum, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

After a creative pause in the 1970's, when she married and raised two children, the noted landscape artist Wilson Hurley selected one of her paintings to hang in the Art Annual IV, 1983.  Several of her paintings were featured in the calendars of the Oklahoma City Baptist Medical Center in the late 1980s, and she has participated in the Gilcrease Museum's American Art in Miniature show since 1998.  Her work reached the top 100 in the Arts for the Parks Competitions in 2001 and 2005.

Linda paints and exhibits her work throughout the Southwest, recording the vanishing wilderness. "My desire is to paint a landscape reflecting my love for nature."
