| Active in New Orleans from 1908 to the 1940s, Lucy Rosado worked in the family's waxworking business and was noted for the costumes she created for black street-vendor women in wax. She also designed and made a washerwoman character.
Lucy Rosado was the granddaughter of Francisco Vargas and daughter of Conception Vargas, both waxworkers. She was married twice, and her husbands were Augustin Alfaro and Joseph Rosado. Her son, August Alfaro, worked with her, sculpting and molding the wax figures.
