Mary Louise Ramsdell, a painter and art administrator, was born on February 13, 1883 in Housatonic, Massachusetts. She studied art at the University of California, at Smith College B.A., at the Art Students League, at the Grand Central School of Art, in Vienna, and with Wayman Adams, George Luks, Jerry Farnsworth, and others.
