Marion Roller, NA, FNSS was born in Boston, Massachusetts.  She studied at the Vesper George School* of Art, The Art Students League* of New York and received her BA from Queens College. She was a versatile sculptor – equally facile in small works in fired terra cotta* or monumental works in cast bronze.

Her figures, portraits, bas reliefs* and medals have been awarded numerous honors. Exhibition venues of Roller’s sculpture includes the National Academy of Design* and National Sculpture Society* in New York City; The United States Mints in San Francisco and Denver; Albany (NY) Institute of History and Arts: Pittsfield (MA) Museum; Cannon House Rotunda in Washington, D.C.; National Sculpture Society of Serravizza, Italy; Federation Internationale de la Medaille in Helsinki, Finland, Budapest, Hungary, and other locations in Eastern Europe as part of the U.S. Information Service.

Roller has won The Gold Medal of Honor and the Silver from the Audubon Artists*, at least four awards from the National Sculpture Society, the Margaret Sussman and the Charlotte Dunwiddie Memorial Awards from the Pen & Brush and many others.

During the winter of 1999-2000 she lived and worked at Brookgreen Gardens as their first sculptor in Residence and created their year 2000 annual medal “Plantation Award”. She also created an Award Medal for the National Academy of Design and in 2001, she was commissioned by The Butler Institute of American Art in Ohio to create a medal for “The Butler Institute of American Art Life Achievement Award in American Art”.

Marion Roller is listed in Who’s Who in American Art, Dictionary of American Sculptors from the 18th Century to the Present and other publications.
