Marjorie Ribbel painted in what can be called a modernist / expressionist manner. She specialized in watercolor renditions of the Monterey Peninsula and Northern California coastal areas. Ribbel studied in Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, and Europe under du Case, Jean Varda, George Post, and Rex Brandt. She was a life-long friend of long time Carmel Art Association member Ruth Anze Buffington.
