This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| A painter of scenery and panoramist, Martin Reisner emigrated from Russia about 1848 and lived in Brooklyn, New York from 1850 to 1859, and then lived in Germantown, Pennsylvania. He exhibited panoramic scenes of Zachary Taylor's campaigns in Mexico. He also painted landscapes and sold one of them at the American Art Union in 1849.
In St. Petersburg, Russia, he had been Director of Scene Painting at the Imperial Theatre.
