A landscape painter, Mary Riley lived most of her life in Washington DC where she was born but traveled widely including to New Mexico, Mexico, Arizona, Europe and South America. One of the few surviving landscapes from those travels is titled The Arroyo, Arizona.
Her art training included the Art Students League, the Corcoran School of Art and summer classes with Henry Miller in Paris, and Henry Snell in St. Ives, Cornwall, England. She also studied with Birge Harriso (showing 500 of 881 characters). |
