| | Painter. Born in El Paso, TX on Sept. 3, 1897. Mary was the wife of W. H. Rankin. She studied in Los Angeles at Chouinard Art School and with Loren Barton and James Couper Wright. During the 1940s through 1960s she was a resident of San Marino, CA at 2510 Cumberland Road. Her name was Starkey at the time of her demise in Orange, CA on June 28, 1989. Member: Women Painters of the West; Pasadena Society of Artists; Laguna Beach AA; Nat'l League of American Pen Women.
