| | Born in Iowa on Oct. 23, 1875. Rice settled in San Diego in 1908. She studied locally with Charles Fries and often accompanied him on painting excursions. A spinster, she was a resident of San Diego until her death on March, 14, 1966. Her work includes still lifes of flowers and fruit as well as landscapes of the area around her home.
