This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following is from John Smith:

Richard Rezac is known for refined forms in a variety of media and scales. His work has been compared to that of Constantin Brancusi and Ellsworth Kelly, as well as to Indonesian Buddhist sculpture. In a diverse range of materials, Rezac examines multiple relationships of elements at once architectural and organic. In free standing objects, wall pieces and ceiling suspended works, Rezac has investigated polychrome strategies and serial orders.

Richard Rezac has exhibited widely, nationally and internationally, primarily in Chicago, IL, New York, NY, and Los Angeles, CA.

Rezac's objects can be found in many private and public collections,
including the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Museum of Contemporary
Art .
The following is from Who's Who in American Art, 1997-1998

A conceptual artist and sculptor, Richard Rezac was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. He studied at Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland Oregon, where he earned a BFA, and in 1982, he earned an MFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore.

Early in his career, he was active in Oregon, serving as Gallery Director of Pacific Northwest Art in Portland from 1977 to 1980 and then teaching at Mount Hood Community College and Portland State University. From 1985, he has been an instructor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he was made an associate professor in 1991.
