Biography from Alphanautical Gallery:
| Robert A. Richert grew up seeking the outdoors and all that it had to offer. Many childhood days were spent exploring fields and creeks in search of insects, tadpoles and lizards. For over twenty years this love for the outdoors has greatly influenced his life as an artist and the paintings he creates.
During the early 1970''s Richert earned a Bachelor's Degree in Art at the California State University, Long Beach, where he learned to apply the discipline of science to the creation of art. Richert still spends a great amount of time outdoors, and in the studio he transforms his experiences into acrylic paintings that are both naturalistic and visually exciting.
Richert volunteers time as an interpretive naturalist at local ecological reserves. Through his artwork and volunteer time, he inspires people towards a heightened appreciation for the environment. Generous donations of his paintings and prints have raised thousands of dollars for conservation efforts.
Over the years Robert Richert's style has evolved, and most recently has continued to expand his subject matter; pure landscapes and portraits of people are his latest interests. No matter what compositions Robert Richert chooses to paint, he will always be known as a true realist in the most literal sense of the word.
