| Born in El Paso, Texas on August 1, 1910. Ross studied at the Art Center School in Los Angeles, National Academy of Design, and Grande-Chaumiere in Paris. By 1940 he had settled in Los Angeles and for 25 years was art critic for the Pasadena Star News. He later was director of the Pasadena Art Institute and Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He died in Los Angeles on February 20, 2006. Exhibited: LACMA, 1940.
