This biography from the Archives of AskART:
A sculptor, painter, art educator and lecturer, Roland Reiss has exhibited in the United States and abroad, including at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Documenta in Kassel, Germany, and museums in Brazil, Mexico, China, Canada, Italy, Germany, Japan and Taiwan.  He is the recipient of four NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) grants and of more than forty prizes and awards.  Since 1992, Reiss has concentrated exclusively on abstract painting.

Roland Reiss, Professor of Art at the University of Colorado, (in Boulder, CO) teaches graduate painting and drawing. He holds a Masters degree in creative arts from the University of California at Los Angeles, where he also taught. His creative work has won him 27 prizes and awards and he is considered an authority on plastics in relation to art.
