Ruth Rosengard was born in the Pacific Northwest, and attended school in Washington and Oregon. She studied music at the Julliard School in New York for five years during the late 1920s, where she made extra income during her off-hours as an organist for silent films.
She moved to San Francisco in 1931, where she studied art with Maria Von Ridelstein, Thomas Leighton, and Arthur Palmer. Her paintings have been shown in many Bay Area galleries, and she juried many shows and festivals in th (showing 500 of 1695 characters). |
