| | Born in Rypin, Poland on April 15, 1859. Ripinsky arrived California in the 1870s and established a studio in Sacramento. By the late 1870s he had moved to Oregon where he lived for about six years. He then moved to Alaska where he continued to paint at a trading post that he owned. He died there in Haines on March 21, 1927.
