From her home in Oneonta, New York wood sculptor Stefanie Rocknak continues the tradition of Germanic medieval wood sculptors. Rocknak's figures are full of strong emotions.
Rocknak uses a variety of woods though she prefers basswood. The self-taught artist studies the wood before she decides the figure which will emerge. She uses only chisels, a rawhide hammer, and micro tools for details.
