My mother, Wanda Sonia Bilyieu (nee Glamzo b. 1904 d. 1999) came to America as a toddler in 1906 when her parents left Libau, Latvia, which was under Russian rule, for opportunities in America. Wanda grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated near the top of her high school class and became a graduate of the Parsons School of Applied and Fine Art in NYC. After her graduation, she began a 20-year career (showing 500 of 2689 characters). |
