This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Notes from a Maine collector of this artist's work who wishes to remain anonymous.

I am the owner of an oil on canvas painting by Wendell M. Rogers, and I have assembled the following information that seems to me to be worthy of inclusion in your biographical information.

1) From a label affixed to the top stretcher of my (30" x 20") painting, which is entitled Nauset Beach (1960): Wendell M. Rogers was "born in South Orleans, Massachusetts, (and) grew up in Worcester. (He) studied at the Scott Carbee School of Art, Boston. After (the) 1929 Depression (he) moved to Cape Cod (where he) had a studio and a house in Chatham."

2) From the website of the Chatham Historical Society and its Atwood House Museum; link

"The society includes in its collection a black, hard cover journal, 7 1/4'' x 10" that "contains a list of over 3,000 paintings purchased from Wendell Rogers from 1935 to 1955. Included for each painting is the date, size of painting, subject of the painting as well as the name of the purchaser.
"Wendell Rogers was a painter, art teacher and camera enthusiast. The best known of his picture in the Society's collection is his Main Street in Winter. A print of this picture ...(has been produced by the society)."

3) From the Cape Cod Chronicle, 11/28/02 in an article entitled Giving Thanks for Art: At Cultural Council Urging, Six Chatham Paintings Are Brought Back to Life, by Tim Wood:

In 2002 fine art conservator Debra Strain restored Rogers' oil painting Brother of Wendell Rogers, which hangs in the town offices of Chatham, MA..
