| Born in San Francisco, CA on Jan. 19, 1891 into a pioneer family. After the earthquake and fire in 1906, Rideout moved with his family to Oakland where he lived for the rest of his life. He was artistically inclined at an early age, but opted for a career as a dentist. After graduating from medical school at UC Berkeley, he worked as a dentist at the San Francisco Presidio during WWI. He later studied art under Perham Nahl at the CCAC and, in his leisure, etched and painted landscapes, nudes (showing 500 of 803 characters). |
