| | Born in New Hampshire in 1835. Ritterbush settled in Weaverville, CA in the early 1850s. During the 1860s and 1870s he was a miner and served as justice of the peace in nearby North Fork. Working in pen-and-ink, he made sketches of the area around his home. He died near Weaverville on June 17, 1880.
