A portrait painter and educator, Aileen Shea , along with her sister Marjorie Ortlip Stockin, initiated the Art Department in the 1930s at Houghton College in Houghton, New York. As teachers in the school, they involved their artist parents, Aimee and H. Willard Ortlip.
Aileen Shea also taught in the public schools of Wellsville, New York.
She studied at the National Academy of Design, the Sorbonne in Paris and with Leon Kroll, and Gifford Beal. She was a member of the National Ar (showing 500 of 782 characters). |
