Albert Salzbrenner was born in Dresden, Germany in 1865. Salzbrenner studied at the Royal Academy in Dresden under Leon Pohle and Ludwig von Hoffman, for two years in Paris with Carolus Duran, and in Vienna under Heinrich von Angeli. He first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1888.
An itinerant artist, he had studios in NYC (1889-90), St Paul, MN (1910), Portland, OR (1911-14 and 1920), Salt Lake City (1914-16), Pasadena (1917), San Francisco (1919), NYC (1935), and Winston-Salem, NC. (showing 500 of 718 characters). |
