The following is from the artist:
Alette Simmons-Jimenez, the third of four children, was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and raised in the US and Europe. Her father was an Air Force Pilot and career military, which led to constant travel. The artist as a young child was shuffled from one home to another continuously forced to adapt to different cultures and societies. Later as an adult this nomadic lifestyle formed a rich eclectic creative language.
