| | Born in Oklahoma on Oct. 23, 1899. Alpha was the daughter of artist Katherine Knox. In 1918 the family moved to southern California. By 1932 Alpha was the wife of Melvin Salveson and a resident of Anaheim. For 30 years she taught in the public schools of that city. She died there on Oct. 16, 1978.
