Biography from AskART:
| Born in Krakow, Poland, Andrew Skorut emigrated to the United States in
1987 and studied at Salt Lake Community College and the University of
Utah, where he earned a fine-arts degree.
He is interested in both representation and abstraction. To
achieve this goal, he says he "alternates between layers of paint and
glaze, scratching into the layers of paint with sticks, rags, and other
implements that leave interesting marks on the surface."
