This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in San Francisco, CA in 1867. Anna was the niece of Claus Spreckels, the sugar magnate. She studied art in her native city and by the 1890s had settled across the bay in Alameda. At her studio-home at 1807 Lincoln, she fired her own kiln and produced exquisite painted china which most always was trimmed in 14 carat gold. She made many trips to Europe to the porcelain factories there. A spinster, she died in Alameda on Aug. 2, 1939. In: Alameda Historical Museum.
