This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Berndorf, Germany on April 19, 1894. Schutz studied at the University of Munich and Royal Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts. By the 1920s he had settled in NYC. While on his way to the Orient he sketched and spent several weeks in San Francisco in 1928 and exhibited scenes of the City there at Gump's in 1934. In: AIC; Library of Congress; Cleveland Museum; Brooklyn Museum.
