Antonio (Anthony) Scilipoti was born in 1884 in a small village outside Palermo, Sicily. In 1892, in the midst of Italian immigration to the Untied States, the Scilipoti family, including 8 year old Antonio and his brother Michael came to America and settled in the Little Italy section of Manhattan. He attended the New York City school system.
Later Antonio was accepted into New York's prestigious Cooper Union School of Art. At that time, there was a great need for etchers and photoengra (showing 500 of 2551 characters). |
