Peter Falk, "Who Was Who in American Art"
Note submitted April 2005 from David John Rush:

"I was an instructor at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial art in Newark, New Jersey as was Mr. Sozio. I'm sorry to say that I only knew him for three years, while we were teaching at the school together. He was living in East Orange, NJ at that time, and was a very quiet sensitive man, very distinguished with a full head of white wavy hair, horn-rimmed glasses, and always a tan tweed sport jacket.

Later in his life he became very interested in abstract experimentation, as well as figure drawing. Before his death I purchased 40 or so of his drawings, 4 paintings, his palette and brushes, which I still have in my collection. The Newark Public Library has some of his paintings, and a lot of information about him.

He was very serious in the class room and did not tolerate any nonsense. if you were serious he would go out of his way to help you."
