| | Born at Schney, Bavaria on Oct. 7, 1883. Steiner worked for two years in Bavaria for the Royal Pottery of Nymphenburg which was owned by the royal family. He then worked in Munich for several years. By 1911 he had immigrated to New Jersey and, after seven years in Chicago, settled in Los Angeles as an employee of the W. A. Pickard Company (china decorators).
