Russian-American genre scene painter, Isaac Soyer, specialized in portraits, interiors and dancers. He was born 1902 in Tombrov, Russia and along with his family emigrated to the United States in 1912.
Isaac had two older twin brothers, Raphael Soyer, 18991987 and Moses Soyer, 18991974 (b. Borisoglebsk), who were also artists. They settled in New York City, inspired by everyday attitudes, thoughts, and gestures of people doing everyday tasks.
