| | Born in Boone, KY in 1894. Mrs. Setzer studied at the Chicago Applied Art School, Herron Institute in Indianapolis, CCAC and the CSFA (B.A.). She was a resident of Palo Alto, CA in 1928 and studied in Los Angeles in 1938 with Norman Edwards. By 1939 she was a resident of Des Moines, IA where she served as director of art education in the public schools. A spinster, she died in Des Moines on Feb. 5, 1960. Primarily a landscape painter, she worked in both oil and watercolor.
