A painter, educator, craftsperson, designer, and lithographer, Burnett Shryock was born in Carbondale, Illinois and lived there during much of his life. He earned an AB degree from the University of Illinois, and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, the American Art Academy in Chicago, and at Teachers College at Columbia, University where he earned an MA degree.
From 1935 to 1942, he was Assistant Professor of Art at Southern Illinois University, and from 1942 to 1944 chaired th (showing 500 of 1056 characters). |
