A painter and muralist in Impressionist style whose specialties were
desert landscapes, Indians, still lifes, portraits, religious and
historical genre, Carl Schmidt was born in 1885 in St. Charles, Minnesota
and died in 1969 in San Bernardino, California, where he resided from
1924.
He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and was a member of the
Laguna Beach Art Association; Los Angeles Art Association; and the San
