Carol Brauer Schmidt creates vivid oil pastel paintings using primary colors. "I enjoy the challenge of simplifying the subject, bringing it down to the shapes, textures and colors that appeal to me" the artist expresses.
She is a member of the Great Lakes Pastel Society and the Artists Alliance in Michigan. She has taught art in schools and given talks and demonstrations for organizations.
