Born in Prosper, Texas, Celia Jamison settled in Denton, Texas, became
a painter and art teacher. She was active in the Texas Fine Arts
Association, and her work is in the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and
the University of Iowa at Ames.
Jamson graduated from Texas State College for Women in Denton, earning
a BS Degree in 1941. She earned a Master of Arts Degree from the
University of Iowa in 1944, and her most influential instructor there
was modernist Philip Gust (showing 500 of 763 characters). |
